Welcome to the Beautiful (and Yummy) Garden has been designed to help students discover the joy and wonder of fruits and vegetables. There is a great need for this experience as thirty-five per cent of children eat no fruit each day, and 20 % eat no vegetables. Instead of healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grains children are eating unhealthy fast foods and junk foods. The result of this trend is that obesity has been declared an epidemic in our country and overweight has increased threefold amongst our children. Through education we can reverse that trend and make a difference for the future of our students.
